Coal Deal In Uintah Basin Transfers Big Mine and Land

A $10,000 coal deal this week transfers ownership of Pack & Young Coal mine to L Rh Pack and L I Allen. The mine, the largest in Uintah Basin, runs five feet thick and yields about 20 tons daily with plans to expand. Pack will manage. 146 acres of patented coal land and 160 adjacent acres accompany the purchase. St Paul Lodge of the Episcopal Church in Vernal opens to house local students, offering Christian nonsectarian lodging for 10 to 12 girls at reasonable rates.

Death of Little Girl Lavone Billings in Vernal

Mr and Mrs Warren F Billings of Jensen mourn the death of their 5 year old daughter Lavone from acute Brights disease. She had been ill for several days, died at 6 oclock Sunday morning, and the family brought her to Vernal to be near the physician. Funeral services were held at Jensen.
