Crippled Guide Finds Profit in His Hobby in Seattle
Crippled former merchant from Seward Alaska injured at a dockside accident years ago has learned to walk again through a hobby. After guidance from the Washington State Fly Club members he started making fishing lures at Beattie’s Maving hospital workshop. He now supplies 20 sporting goods stores and turns out about eight dozen lures daily with help from his mother and hospital buddy.

In Utah, Mrs Cunliffe and her child visit from Bing ham with Mrs Ray Atwood’s family, planning Leland Cunliffe’s return and medical help in Salt Lake City. Cunliffe worked as a Navy and Utah Copper brakeman for four years prior to service.

Melbern Slaugh Receives Naval Discharge and Medals
Melbern Slaugh of Vernal, husband of Bosna Chivers Slaugh, has received his naval discharge. He enlisted in December 1943 and was released later that year. He earned the Philippines Liberation Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Theater and American Theater ribbons.
