How to Grow Sweet Potatoes in Agriculture
The southern United States suits the sweet potato best as a tropical plant unsuitable for cold northern areas. Propagation starts in hotbeds by sprouting bedded potatoes in sand, then planting on ridges 4 feet apart with rows 12 to 14 inches apart. Rich sandy soil and thorough mixing of manure improve yields. harvest when vines die back, with quality improving as maturity approaches.
