South Myton Canal Project Wins Support and Funding Hope
Stockholders in the South Myton Beach Irrigation District voted to approve a contract with Lott and Associates of Denver to build a 30 mile canal 28 feet wide at the bottom that will water about 16 000 acres on the South Myton bench The project hinges on Carey act bond funding with a 6 percent rate and a January 1912 first interest payment The canal will draw water two miles from Theodore and is expected to bring water to Myton area and boost settlement and fruit growing efforts The announcement follows broader railroad expansion rumors and local bank developments in Myton Utah
