Johnston Saw Mill Burns Down on Brushcreek Mountain

The Johnston saw mill on Brushcreek Mountain burned to the ground Monday noon. A. J. Johnston and his son fought the flames after a spark in the engine room lit a wall of fire eight feet high. Four new saws valued at $160 each were saved, but the entire plant was a total loss with tools and equipment destroyed. The fire, thought caused by a spark in dust, left the mill uninsured and valueless for rebuilding.
