Funeral Rites for Mrs Winward Held at Gliries
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Winward were held at the ward chapel last Thursday, with Bishop John B. Eaton presiding. Interment followed at Vertical Memorial Park. Born January 19, 1870 in Wales, she immigrated to Utah and married William A. Winward in Salt Lake City in 1888.

State Department Finds Foul Seed in Uintah County
State officials reported a quarantine after finding impure seed samples in Uintah County. Tests showed high inert material and several noxious weed seeds including large dodder and buckhorn plantain, with others like Russian knapweed and wild foxtail. Impure seed disqualifies farmers from conservation payments and from using non adapted seed varieties from Modoc County or Argentina.

Health Day Parade in Vernal May 7 Event Draws 2700 Pupils
Plans stage the first annual Health Day carnival and parade in Vernal with 2700 students. The 8am start forms north of the courthouse, proceeds west to Stainish High School campus, ending before 11am. Dintah High School Band leads, then Health Day Queen Moat by Girl Scouts. Floats from schools and clubs, Winter High School Band perform, dances by eight grades, and a dental clinic by Dr Dalgleish of Utah State Board of Health.
