The text argues gasoline mileage is a minor factor in overall car economy compared with low initial cost and upkeep. It highlights Ford’s position, praising the 1936 Torch V-8 for value per dollar, lower repair costs, long life, and depreciation, and notes no other low-price car offers Center-Point Riding, safe brakes, and Safety Glass at no extra cost.
