New Marine Engine Promises 35 MPH Ocean Travel
George Shefield, an inventor, claims a new marine engine could propel 5,000 ton ships at 35 miles per hour without coal, using a sugar and chlorate gas system in a steel chamber. The Paris and Teutonic would supposedly reach Queenstown from New York in three days ten hours.
