Uintah Forest Division Will Move to Vernal Supervisory Office
The Uintah National Forest will be divided with a Vernal supervisor and a new eastern section. The line runs from Lake Fork west to a point near Black Fork about thirty miles west of Whiterocks, affecting Myton Roosevelt Whiterocks Ft Duchesne Rend Let Independence Ouray Hayden. The change ends long Provo trips for residents, enables Vernal business and covers over half the former Uintah reservation area with millions of feet of timber and grazing for 300000 sheep and about 25000 horses and cattle.

County Commissioners Review Finances And Appointments
County Commissioners meeting last Monday reviewed treasurer balances and March and February receipts and disbursements. The attorney general issued opinions on disinfection duties and hunting licenses, and several county offices announced appointments, reports, and routine expenditures across Uintah and surrounding areas.
Harmond McCarrel Dies After Illness at Father Home
Harmond McCarrel died last Sunday at his father Jess McCarrel’s residence after a long rheumatism heart illness and dropsy. He was about 28 and leaves a wife formerly Annel Merkley. The funeral at Vernal ward house was well attended with Frank M. Young conducting services and Hyrum Calder offering the opening prayer. Burial followed in Vernal Cemetery with Calder officiating. Palm Sunday services are planned at the Congregation church next Sunday with Mrs Newcomb singing Palm Branches and Mr Thos Burchell Jerusalem. The pastor will speak on Our Pride In Christianity.

Supreme court orders the Vernal 155 acre Chadwick farm to be titled to Mrs Asenath Chadwick. Lower court findings on statute of frauds reversed, accounting ordered, property to be returned from A Emert and Arnold. Defendants were John H Arnold and A C Omert.

Birchell Homestead Contested by Wiscomb in Roosevelt Area
John Birchell of a Roosevelt area homestead faced a contest by William Wiscomb of Springville. The hearing before Register Charles DeMoisy spanned two days with T W O'Donnell for Birchell and John T. Pope for Wiscomb. Birchell testified he located the homestead in 1906 and has spent over 900 dollars on improvements, maintaining it as his home. De Moisy will render a decision next week.
