A fragment from a late 19th or early 20th century column extols frying fish in hot lard with flour or meal crusts. It discusses grease temperature, fat quality, and how proper technique yields a rich brown result, then shifts through varied domestic notes on food preparation, animal care, and household tips with a mix of regional anecdotes.
