Plummer Auto Lands in Ditch Near Hillsamer Crossing

The Plummer party of Mr T B Plummer Mrs Wm Plummer Mrs Ida Miller and Miss Tida Plummer were traveling to Marion when a cam shaft stuck as they met a truck near Hillsamer crossing. The car skidded into a ditch, was pulled out by a nearby section crew and towed to Marion for repair. No one was hurt.

The piano pupils of Miss Dorothy Duckwall and violin pupils of Miss Margaret DePoy performed at the Methodist church last Friday evening. The recital was a decided success with all pupils excelling and reflecting their teachers' skill.

Boxell Families Hold Third Reunion at Boxell Home

The Boxell families met August 31, 1922, at C. F. Boxell’s home two miles south of Roseburg for their annual reunion. Despite a light turnout, attendees enjoyed a social forenoon, a large dinner, elections, a program of talks and songs, a watermelon feast, and planned a future reunion at Van Buren in Win. Plummer’s grove if possible.

Mrs W H Cramer Dies at 70 in Huntington County

Mrs William H Cramer aged 70 of Huntington county near the Gran County line died Friday morning. She is survived by her husband three brothers Daniel Cross Oklahoma William Cross Huntington county and three children Clinton Cramer Joseph Cramer and Mrs Wilson Harrell all of Huntington county. Funeral services were held Sunday at Pleasant Plain at 1 30 PM with burial at Mt Etna cemetery.

Last Car at Night Comes Earlier Now

The last M and E traction car from Mariona now departs at 9 30 p m and arrives in Van Buren at 9 54 p m. Despite the late hour, many youths plan visits to the county seat, implying a long walk home if missed.

Burglar Strikes Van Buren Vulcanizing Shop

The Van Buren Vulcanizing Shop was robbed last Friday night. About $199 in cash and Mr. Shesler's tobacco were taken. Entrance was through the rear door. screen wire torn and a board used to unhook the screen door. Shesler believes he was watched while money was moved. his pants were found on the back steps and the pocketbook vanished. City Marshal Spilker reported no clue.

The Grant county board of education will meet next Tuesday at 10 a m in County Superintendent A R Halls office to decide on Purdue University recommendation for H E Schroeder as county agent of Gram The aim is to cooperate with farmers and schools to advance agricultural work. Schroeder is a Ames College La graduate with farming experience and comes highly recommended by an Indiana county agent leader.

Petition Granted to Incorporate Cemetery in Weils County

The county commissioners approve a petition by Asbury Chapel owners in Jackoy Township to incorporate under state law. Cemetery owners will meet in October to elect directors. The cemetery adjoins the church located south of Lost Lakes.

A Warren couple in a car collided with another vehicle near Montpelier on Sunday evening. Miss Leuona Jones suffered a deep cut to her left arm, four stitches applied by a Montpelier doctor. other occupants escaped injury.
