Primary yields mixed results in Van Buren township

Indifferent turnout marked the state wide primary in Van Buren township on Tuesday. Democrats favored George Rauch for congress while Republicans backed Dr. Good for Congress and Charles B. Davis for recorder. Local outcomes included T. B. Dicken for prosecutor and Russell Crevistoo for recorder, with recounts needed in precinct two due to vote tabulation error.

Birthday Party For Miss Deluas At East Main Street

Mrs BE Maugart hosted a birthday party for her daughter Deluas at her East Main Street home last Saturday. Music and games filled the afternoon followed by a two course lunch. Guests included Mary Nelson Abbie Doyle and many more as entertainers. The Van Buren echo will host a market next Saturday at Migs Deane's millinery store to benefit the library fund.

Grandmother Mrs Liddie Losure Left 22 Great-Grandchildren

Mrs Liddie Losure 80 of Landessville near Lan dess died at her home Friday morning. She had 23 great grandchildren and 42 grandchildren. Surviving relatives include brother Daniel Tinkle of Landessville and children Mary Weckard Nora Bradford Ellen Huff Clara Brown Nancy Losure William Love Jacob Love and Rova Bradford of Walkersville Mich. Funeral services were at the Brethren church Landers Sunday morning with interment at Tinkie cemetery.

Rev Dunbar to Lecture in Vac Buren Methodist Church

Rev BE Dunbar of Pepville, who aided revival services at the M E church here, will give his lecture My Trip Through Jeffersonville Reformatory next Wednesday evening March 16 at the Vac Buren Methodist church. He has spoken three times in his home town and twice in Kokomo. The Epworth League leads the program and a silver offering will be collected.

Missionary Society Elects Treasurer At April Meeting

The W F M S met at Mrs E H DePoy's home on Friday afternoon. Mrs B E Kern led devotionals while Mrs Hester Deane led the study with all members participating. Mrs Lillie Kirkpatrick joined as a new member and Mrs E B Scott was elected treasurer to fill an unexpired term. The next meeting will be the first Friday in April with Mrs Furnigh.

James do Wateoe, republican candidate for senator, chosen by party caucus across Vorder Township. James P. Goodrich also favored in the election, with Clarkson la Smith Petia hob and Fremont Wilson among candidates for county offices. Voters head to polls Tuesday for county clerk and commissioner races led by Hezekiah Bo Wyscoe and William Bildwin in district contests.
