Howards Barn Destroyed by Fire Near Town

A large barn on P S Howard’s farm one-half mile north of town burned Monday night destroying hay and farming implements. The fire origin remains unknown with hay thought dry enough to rule out spontaneous combustion. No livestock were in the barn. insurance was only 1500 dollars, leaving substantial losses to Mr. Howard and Burtney Ferguson.

Terrence Jones Wins Grant County Chronicle Ride

Terrence Jones of Paxton Drug Store wins the Marion Chronicle contest for the most Chronicle subscribers in Grant County. He will ride the sailplane Indiana next Monday afternoon, tour Marion with Aviator Lindsay, and return home to this city.

J A Lee Killed in Texas Oil Field

Mrs. L B Kilander received a telegram stating her son-in-law J A Lee had been killed at Wichita Falls Texas. No particulars were given. Lee was a drifter in the oil field there. Interment will be in Wichita Falls. He was a former resident of this city with many relatives and friends.

Clapper Family Leaves for Ada Ohio

Mrs. Boyd Clapper and children of Paw Paw Michigan visited Elmer Brown and family then moved to Ada Ohio with the Clapper family leaving Tuesday.
