Ephriam W. Creviston died at his Marion home on July 23 at age 74 after illness. Born in Grant County, he was a longtime farmer before moving to Marion six years ago and served as a director of the First National Bank. He was brother to Henry C. Creviston and Mrs. Anna Corey of Van Buren.

Roberts was vindicated as a lawful copper. Oliver claims he took the team to Van Buren for work and denies the mortgage charge. He was arrested at Montpelier by the Van Buren marshal.
In Hartford City Idaho on July 27 Ed Huggins was taken into custody by Marshal E R Roberts and escorted to Marion to face a charge of provoke filed by Charles Oliver. Huggins paid a 81 fine. J A Shewalter had sued Oliver over a mortgaged team removal from the county and a jury verdict last night favored Oliver. Oliver argued the removal was temporary for work in Grant County and did not constitute a violation.
Mr and Mrs EB N Gillespie and Mrs Zell Gillespie with daughter Zella Pearl drove to Warren Monday to visit the old folks home. They spent the day there and praised the facility as a great place.
At a town board meeting the curfew enforcement was discussed. Marshal Roberts seeks guidance. city clerk to report ordinance content to aid enforcement. The rule: under 16 must stay off streets after 9 PM May 1 to October 1 and after 6 PM October 1 to May 1, with a $2 penalty per offense. Adopted August 15 1899.
A damaged complaint prompts the town board to enforce the chicken ordinance. The rule bans fowls running at large within town limits from April 15 to October 15 and carries a 95 cent fine plus costs. The notice notes farmers face chinch bugs endangering corn crops with spray guidance and county agent Otis Crane seeking Purdue advice.
