Rankins of Indianapolis will discuss control prevention and treatment with lantern slides from the Bureau of Animal Industry. Doyle Marries Ellen Newland in Valparaiso Ceremony
Albert W. Doyle, formerly of Van Buren and son of Mr. and Mrs. William Doyle, wed Miss Ellen Newland at the bride’s home in Valparaiso on Monday December 28 1914 at 5 p m. The couple then traveled to Van Buren via Chicago and plan a stay in Greencastle where Doyle will work as state accountant. Mrs. Doyle is Valparaiso’s Northern Indiana University graduate and a skilled musician. her father is a prominent local druggist.

Charles L Lee age 43 died January 3 1915 in Van Buren township Grant County Indiana after a four week illness. He was son of James R and Elizabeth Lee and brother to six siblings. He lived in the area all his life and was industrious. Funeral services and burial were at St Joseph Reformed Church January 6 conducted by Rev J A Campbell pastor of Vas Buren M E Church.

Frank Losure re elected assessor. Constables elected Frank Eversole and Tom Toller did not qualify. Justice of the Peace nominees were Juhn Mathias, S. V. Shimp and M. B. Crist. Crist qualified, Shimp’s commission may still be in doubt.

Witmer Becomes Township Trustee In Van Buren County
C R Witmer was sworn in as township trustee following William Doyle who served twelve years. The district boasts an $850,000 high school building and little debt aside from road upkeep. Doyle handed over $9,200 and Witmer’s first check paid $1,116.28 interest on bonds. Van Buren township is described as prosperous and well managed.
