The letter from Harry G Witmer of Battery A 60th C AAC AP O 728 A E F details his World War I experiences. Independents Defeated by Warner Gear in Narrow Loss
The Independents fell 28-23 to Warner Gear of Muncie on Saturday night after leading 14-10 at halftime and 22-21 briefly. Muncie, undefeated last year and this year, showed a fast pace and fair play. The locals next host Bluffton, Angola, Kokomo Y M C A, and Fairmount with a Farmers' Institute to boost support.

Sunday School Elects Officers at Methodist Church
The official board of the Methodist Sunday School met at the church and elected officers including Superintendent EB DePoy and Assistant Superintendent Wim F Williamson. A leather traveling bag was given to the superintendent as thanks for three years of service. The school plans new activities and defensive improvements to accommodate growth next year.

Miller Auto Upset Near Akers Home
An automobile driven by Will Miller skidded in snow and rolled into a shallow ditch near George Akers home. Passengers included Mrs Miller and daughter Ilo Roy Sowers and family Zona Bird and a young boy. All exited safely with minor injuries. car sustained little damage.
