Patrons Visit Town Schools for Open Day

Supt J L Henderson announced last Friday as patron visiting day. About one hundred patrons toured the school, watched chemistry experiments, and heard a debate on municipal street railway ownership. The event featured a luncheon, student programs, and praise for the teachers, trustees, and school building as a community touchpoint.

An enjoyable program was given Feb 21 by the teachers of the Second and Third Rooms. The regular work of the rooms continued until 2 o'clock, then the Third Room under Hazel took charge.

A Sunday gathering at the Methodist church featured Judge R. T. St. John of Marion arguing the liquor open saloon endangers law and morality. He warned of ruined lives, urged voters to reject saloon reinstitution, and contrasted past Marion stock values with current misery, ending with a call to action and brief remarks by T. B. Dicken and Rev. L. J. A. Sevits.
