Foreign speakers at Sweetser and Upland include Alexander Cobb and Mrs Stanley. Fairmount features W O McCoy and Mrs Sewell. A meeting of township chairmen will be held to finalize complete programs. Some sites may extend to two days to satisfy local wishes.

Restaurant operator Curt Cranfield Arrested for Blind Tiger

Curt Cranfield who has run a restaurant on West Main Street was arrested by City Marshal Roberts on a Friday night charged with conducting a blind tiger. The marshal found three bottles of whiskey including a quart and a pint partly full. Cranfield pleaded guilty before a city justice, was bound over to the circuit court with bond set, and remained in jail in Marion until bond was posted.
