Barn Lifts From Foundation in Storm Near Hartford City
Mrs. Fowler recounted a freak storm incident southwest of the city. The barn was torn from its foundation and carried away as Mr. and Mrs. Fowler, unhitching a horse, narrowly escaped injury. The buggy was hurled into a corn field, but both escaped unharmed.

George Leverich Elected to Board as Losure Resigns
At the town board meeting Friday night Fred Losure resigned after moving to Marion. George Leverich, a retired farmer and local property owner, elected to fill the unexpired term through January 1, 1918. The board set rates for water purchases from the new plant.

Mr H A Davis of Watseka Illinois has purchased the furniture and undertaking business of Mason and Allen. The deal closed Monday.
