Oliver P Kester laid to rest at Seybertsville
Oliver P. Kester, age 73, was laid to rest in the local Presbyterian cemetery after a funeral conducted by Rev. George M. Larned. He died early Sunday after a ten week illness from bronchial pneumonia. Born June 20, 1831, in Greenwood township, he lived in Seybertsville and served as Justice of the Peace in Sugarloaf township for fifteen years. He was a Democrat and a member of the M E church. Pairs of pallbearers included John Schreiber Adam Stair Mahlon McMurtrie and Daniel Roth. The service featured hymns Nearer My God to Thee and Passing Down the Valley.
