Boston beat Cincinnati 4 to 2 behind Lear then Demaree held Philly to split a pair. Philadelphia topped St Louis in a doubleheader, and Detroit defeated Philadelphia in a separate game. Washington beat Chicago as Walter Johnson’s club collected eleven hits and six safeties off Faber. New York and St Louis split a DH with Pier holding St Louis to two hits in game one and St Louis taking the second 5 to 3.
