Columbian Forced to Lie To For Two Days
Madrid reports American steamer Columbian was forced to ride out a storm for two days by a German submarine. After the seas eased, the sub torpedoed the ship. The Columbian was bailed out on November 6 and kept under surveillance until November 7. On the next day Norwegian steamers Baltimore and Forlalen were reported sunk, likely by the same U boat.
