In Bristol, Tennessee, a fatal shooting at a Fairview polling place in Scott County Virginia left two men dead and two wounded, one fatally. The dead were John Osborne and Ezekiel Nickels, both Democratic judges. The shooter, believed to be J. H. Catron, fired after objections to Republican judge C. P. Roller. Catron and Kris were wounded by Osborne and Nickels.
