French Submarine Turmouise Sunk by Turkish Fire

From Hërlin Nov 1 via wireless Sayville an official Turkish war office statement dated October 11 reports the French submarine Turmouise sunk by Turkish artillery. All crew of 27 including two officers and 24 men were captured. The 246 ton Turmouise, built 1904 at Toulon, displacement 164 tons, length 164 feet, had 12 knot surface speed and 6 knot submerged capability.

Hillstrom Faces Firing Squad at Utah Penitentiary
