Pan-Bulgarian forces press outer Nish forts as British troops engage near Strumitsa. Descriptions from Sofia report heavy fighting in Timok valley with Bulgarian advances from Kniazevac and Pirot threatening Nish, while Allied fronts hold elsewhere.
Sofia reports Bulgaria continues the advance in Serbia along the entire front on October 29. Hungarian troops pursued the enemy west of the Korjazevet watershed between the Timok and Morava, capturing the Tosi Bata ridge and the town of Groetjlea, with two mountain guns and large stocks of rifles, powder, and ammunition seized.

From Hërlin Nov 1 via wireless Sayville an official Turkish war office statement dated October 11 reports the French submarine Turmouise sunk by Turkish artillery. All crew of 27 including two officers and 24 men were captured. The 246 ton Turmouise, built 1904 at Toulon, displacement 164 tons, length 164 feet, had 12 knot surface speed and 6 knot submerged capability.
Joseph Hillstrom the I W W campaigner and poet will be executed by firing squad at Utah State Prison on November 19 for the murder of J A Morrison and Morrison’s son Arlin on January 10. Hillstrom maintains his innocence as five men prepare the sentence planned by the state.
