Increased expense for electric railroad in 1917 report
The Utah Idaho Central Railway, running 131.78 miles of track between Ogden Utah and Preston Idaho, filed the required state financial report. Despite a $132,994.29 rise in operating revenue in 1917, the line moved from a $0.85 balance to a deficit of $249,716.67, with total operating revenue at $773,718.31. An operating expense increase of $128,939.94 in 1937 offset revenue gains as taxes and interest charges rose sharply on funded indebtedness.
