Three College Students Drown in Lake Collision

Seattle May 19 three college students drowned in a lake after a sudden squall capsized their small canoe. Eugene White survived after grabbing the canoe and clinging to its side while the others disappeared beneath the choppy water. A fourth student was involved in a near rescue as friends struggled to reach them before the craft sank. The victims include J B Gosshorn son of Mathers Gosshorn editor of Kalispell Montana Junter at Bragford University and Glen Jarqueth son of Kalispell Mt. resident, with Tulth Vogt a University of Washington junior among the drowned. White was the only survivor reaching shore. The Stanford students were traveling home as the university closed for the year and were near Vegt Point when the tragedy occurred.
