Dillon Montana May 4 reports the death of Max Ges after a four-horse team fell from a high place injuring him. The accident occurred as he drove the team, fractured his skull, and he died shortly after. Local authorities investigate the incident as a fatal accident in the county.
Dozens of yards were disturbed by a major rock slide on Turtle Mountain causing anxious residents to move portable property as engineers plan blasting to clear debris. Rain is forecast and the river’s rising height worsens flood concerns.
Helena Mont May 3 A proprietor of the Topic theater Bain was shot and likely fatally wounded last evening by a Northern Pacific cook identified as Thompson in an apparent dispute over a shortchange. The revolver discharged two bullets striking Bain as he stood with associates near the theater in Billings. Authorities report the event as a violent incident under investigation with no confirmed motive or arrest at this time.

David Falk prominent Idaho pioneer merchant died in Boise in the afternoon from complications of pancreatic trouble aged 70. He came to Boise in 1869 and founded Falk Hrog, which grew into the Falk Mercantile Company, a leading business in the area.

The local workforce is not large and reports say Oakland and Los Angeles men have voted against striking while Sacramento workers are split. If San Francisco and Tuesday see action the river will go out.
A 53 000 sale near Lewiston involves Senator Dubois ex Senator Thoitfeld ex Congressman Life Pence of Colorado and J Trainer of Chicago acquiring the Shisater ranch at the foot of Waha Lake for an irrigation project. The plan aims to reclaim 75000 acres south and east of Lewiston with Waha Lake as a storage reservoir, costing about 220 000. Dubois and partners have formed the group and project plans include a Lewiston to irrigated area line and private land purchases bringing total expected value to around 1 000 000.
