A P Bigelow Earns Utah Shooting Honors

Sporting and Athletic News reports A P Bigelow of Ogden club delivering a standout shooting display at the Utah Biste Ryortersen association tournament. He posted 159 targets with 147 breaks to win high general average, while Morgan of Salt Lake and C. P. Nelson added notable scores. Runners Ready for Indoor Meet Showdown at Armory

New York March 18 Runners sixteen from Canada the Pacific coast and across the United States gathered for the annual senior national indoor track and field championships of the Amateur Athletic Union at the Twenty second Regiment Armory tonight. Expect several old records to fall as twenty colleges and multiple athletic clubs compete for points. The Irish American Athletic Club has dominated recent years but a open contest looms with Winged Foot possibly challenged by Boston Chicago and Minnesota clubs led by stars including Dave Caldwell Tom Malpin and others. Harvard Yale and others field strong squads with defending champions in thirteen events taking on challengers in a rare large field.

Quincy Beats Madison 19 to 1 in Baseball

The Quincy team routed Madison in a yesterday afternoon game, winning 19 to 1. Nevenipa City five nets ninth win in league play

In a recent game at Cortte Center the Nevenipa City five defeated their ninth opponent in IL league play by a 37 to hand margin. The starter lineup included Saunders and Lett Porwaal with Lindsay contributing strong offense and defense. Captain Wibur Umudley, from the University of Southern California track team, finished second in a relay event, while wearing glasses in the race. Utah Boys Are National Champs in New York

Utah varsity led by Nelson Norgren defeated Illinois Athletic Club 18 to 27 in a windy finish as Walker’s rally capped a Salt Lake comeback. Oakland’s Maida team beat Olympic Club 67 to 29. Van Vell fouled out, Johnson sank three free throws, Utah’s Clark and Packer sealed the rally and Utah claimed the national title.
