News from Brinkley Arkansas reports 29 dead and 74 injured after Monday night tornadoes sweeping 11 counties. Governor Donaghey declared marshal law and a state penitentiary force aids relief as churches and homes are destroyed in multiple towns.
A March 1 tornado in Cuthbert Georgia killed six Black residents and damaged numerous buildings including business properties. Several white people were injured but none seriously. A revival service nearby continued through the storm before parishioners learned their homes were destroyed or damaged. Total losses likely around $100,000.
Trains from Chicago Omaha and Kansas City to St Paul were halted by a severe storm. Rail disruption affected routes into Wisconsin, southern Minnesota, northern Iowa and South Dakota as weather worsened.

Authority notes progress, hopes to reach them this afternoon as daylight briefly appears in the tunnel. food via a two inch pipe has failed and nourishment is scarce. The rescuers, numbering fifty to sixty, work with renewed rigor after a fresh cave-in delayed prior progress.

He warned the system would elect inferior men and degenerate government saying under the old system the office reeks the man but under the proposed system the man weeks the office.

In New York, March 10, the two sisters Alice Edgerly fifteen and Dorothy fourteen are to be awarded field medals by congress for saving Miss Jean Dowling a Bronx teacher from drowning last summer. The girls lived with Mr and Mrs Joseph Edgerly in Park Avenue New York City. Dowling reached a rock a hundred yards from shore and grew exhausted. the sisters and rescuers kept her afloat until rescuers arrived. Representative Joseph A Golden introduced the act in congress authorizing the medals.
Chicago March 10 The retrial of Standard Oil Company of Indiana on rebate charges faced Judge Anderson’s rulings as prosecutors sought to extend the bill of particulars while introducing documents. Oakland police say they uncovered a modern Fagin scheme. They arrested 16 year old Robert Martin, an apprentice, and W N Jenkins clerk C F Salmonson, after a confessed plan that Martin stole about 1000 dollars of jewelry and silverware and passed some pieces to Salmonson for sale. The police claim Martin received only a small share of the value.
