Bamberger Roads Find A Ready Market
Salt Lake March 7 Simon Bam berger president of the Salt Lake and Ogden railroad reports that Harris Trust Savings Bank of Chicago is selling bonds to finance electrification. The $600000 first mortgage 5 percent bonds dated Feb 1 1909 and due Feb 1 1934 are optional at 105 with interest after Feb 1 1914. The issue is part of a $2000000 authorized sale with $660000 allocated to electrify and equip the line. The issuer says substantial equity exists over bonded debt and after bond proceeds are spent property value will reach about $1600000 with only $650000 in bonded debt. None of the remaining $1500000 bonds will be issued under strict trust deed limits. Net earnings for six months ending Nov 30 1908 exceeded twice annual interest charges.
