Substitute Milk Declared Success in Salt Lake
March 6 final decision in the proposed government adoption of a milk substitute invented by J S Fellison of Salt Lake will be made in Washington by the dairy division chief. A test at the federal building yesterday impressed local dairy experts enough to send the formula to national headquarters for further study. The substitute is seven parts water and one part milk solids and could be sold at two thirds the price of milk. The inventor urges government adoption and public broadcast to prevent profiteering while still preserving nourishment. Samples will be analyzed by local health and state chemistry officials.
