Heroically Fought Flames In State Pen Warehouse Fire
A blaze at the jate warehouse of the state penitentiary caused about 50000 in losses. More than 10 convicts, prison guards, and San Francisco firemen fought the flames. Several prisoners were overcome and narrowly saved. Ty J. Frouman, a warehouse bookkeeper, broke a leg while Cyord White worked from the ganihouse atop the warehouse roof.

Convicts Rescue Worker From Warehouse Fire At Prison
Convicts at the prison guard post rescued a worker trapped in a warehouse fire outside the walls. One thousand rounds of ammunition stored in the guardhouse exploded as flames spread. Prisoners kept their posts despite danger from flying bullets and assisted in the rescue. A gatling gun was dragged from the guard house by several convicts who attached a rope to it, risking their lives. No other buildings were endangered.
Berlin Restaurant Snake Incident Captured on Crowd
A six foot snake dropped into a crowded Berlin restaurant table during dinner. Patrons panicked as chairs toppled while the reptile remained still. It belonged to a showman upstairs, escaped through a hole, tangled around a chandelier, woke none, then returned to its owner.
