Church Leaders Speak at Ogden Union Meeting
Dr Francis F E Clare founder of the Christian Endeavor Society addressed Ogden churches at the Presbyterian church, sharing his foreign missions work in South America India Tasmania and China. He spoke of natives adopting the faith and noted fundraising needs to enable attendance abroad, including 20 cents per native and 9 cents per head from churches in the United States. A memorial to missionaries killed in the Boxer uprising was mentioned, with Horace Pitkin urged to continue the work. He also referenced a case of Horace Pitkin and a note from his son. The trip featured a promotional section for Pacific Coast excursion rates with dates in June and July, and return tickets.
