Reported at Fort Hamilton New York prisoners seized a halt to a patrol and escaped during a yard search. Sentries fired when alarm spread and guards formed a chase with the command taking up pursuit as volleys rang out.
The Rev John Tarels Knawlun aged about 70 died yesterday in New York. He had served as canon of the Pralugtant piscopid Callendral in Chicago for twenty five years before coming to New York. Interment details were not clear in the fragment.
