Explosion Injures Workers At Salt Lake Repair Shop

At 2:20 PM a 400 gallon gas tank exploded during repairs at Bywater & Groo, 144-148 West Rooth, injuring two men. One man had a leg severely wound, another was struck by flying metal. Both were removed to hospital after first aid. A joint carpenters meeting in Salt Lake City on Jan 6 sought higher pay starting May 1, and proposed bylaw changes to limit work with non union men.

Mrs. Sarai Depoister aged 87 died at p.m. at her granddaughter Mrs. Oye D. Voss’s home on Cook Street of general debility after eighteen years in Opson.
