The narrative describes a man who, while gambling under Johnny May, lost 2100 dollars and then 6400 dollars after receiving wine from the manager. He issued checks for the sums, later sought the bank to cover them, and faced a suit when funds were insufficient. MacMillan’s friend suspects hostility toward Rawhide Coalition influenced the prosecution. The man surrendered after consulting a Tonopah lawyer.
