Horses Declared Out of Class in National Trotting Board

New York Dec 8 The National Trotting Association board of review expelled Milo Powers of Goshen Indiana for plotting a horse out of its class under the Ruth Corporal alias. Other horses traced include Pilly Pisgate black mare Guadiana and two others linked to owners in Ohio Maine and North Carolina. The meeting also heard the case of Hen F White of East Aurora New York.

Bicycle Racers Break Daylight Record in Sixteen Hour Race

New York report from December notes the sixty third hour of the airday bicycle race with thirteen teams leading at 1303 miles and 4 laps, about 15 miles ahead of the previous record. The Suter Madonna team incurred a one lap penalty after Suter stopped briefly for a nosebleed and Mercey of Australia was forced out after a crash and injury.

Gibbons Ahearn bout postponed in St Paul

Promoters announce a postponement of at least one week for the Mike Gibbons versus Young Abeam ten round bout set for December 10 in St Paul Minnesota due to Gibbons severe cold potentially pneumonia. No substitute will be arranged and if Gibbons resumes training next Monday the fight will be rescheduled to December 17. Ahearn agreed to the extended postponement as needed for Gibbons to recover.

Nearly 1000 centers of yachts and motor boats have offered to serve as naval reserve craft for the United States Navy. Ralph H. Alleged bootlegger held after preliminary hearing

Salt Lake City December 93 Judge T Pavla Johnson sentenced Teo Dantholf in a federal drug case. Indicted last week on possession of cocaine Dantholf pleaded guilty and received four months in county jail after already serving three and a half months awaiting trial. Arrested in Ogden August 1 by Deputy Marshal David Thomas and Internal Revenue Agent LW. Eli Mott Dantholf’s transfer between district divisions occurred November 19 following the grand jury indictment.
