Lawrence Gibson also known as John Oakley a former employee of Houston Hall at the University of Pennsylvania was arrested on suspicion of having knowledge about the murder of John Thomas the aged watchman whose mutilated body was found last night in a bowling alley basement at the club house.

Fatal and Serious Injuries After Ocean Boulevard Collision

A 24 horsepower automobile driven by William A. Stark of Brooklyn collided head on with a buggy carrying two Italian merchants near Coney Island. One man was fatally injured another seriously hurt. the horse was killed. Stark and a companion were bruised and the horse’s destruction was necessary. Police found the carriage on the wrong side of the road and without lights, so Stark was not arrested.
