Chicago May 27 prices in the wheat market slipped on rains then rallied as eastern buyers stepped in. May wheat opened around 1.61 4 and July near 1.26 to 1.27, later climbing above the prior close. Corn rose on country offerings while delays in arrivals supported gains. oats firmed after starting mixed. hogs fell, dragging down provisions.
Cincinnati and Chicago pulled daily market closings with grain prices for May 27 including wheat corn oats rye and potatoes. Live stock bids at Cincinnati and East Buffalo show hogs calves cattle and sheep price ranges and notable declines in hog values.

Prof Wilson, Avondale Public School superintendent, spoke to Monroe High School graduates as diplomas were handed by Fly. Middletown orchestra provided music. Graduates included Elmer Baird, Berenice Sigg, Huber Hendrickson, Helen Fogarty, and others. Shandon High School seniors Scott Starr and Henry Robinson also celebrated at the Congregational church with Rev Arn Martin delivering the address. Arizona University trip group played numbers before the program. Rev B Wellwood gave invocation and benediction.
G Z Mikewell county clerk reports Ohio State Industrial Commission acceptance of 285700 in ICH No 184 road improvement bonds for the Middletown Eaton pike. First section 183300 accepted May 13, second 10873 accepted May 25, paving with brick can proceed.
Elwood, a 17 year old of Pleasant Avenue, received a suspended sentence to Lancaster Industrial School after a juvenile court hearing. Three Ebrow girls testified that Elwood accepted rings and a wristwatch as tokens of affection from each, leading to trouble when the girls discovered he was seeing them all. He arranged to return the jewelry to the trio of girls.
The Baracea class of the First Baptist Church held a last night meeting at the church to discuss the topic Who Is My Neighbor in a debate format. Rev L J Lively of Portsmouth Ohio and Rev B F Caudill spoke for the affirmative while Rev O O Arnold and Rev W T Mullens spoke for the negative. No decision on winners was made. B D Struble presided and led a short devotional service with refreshments served after the program.
Born to Mrs Edward H Muell of 825 South Eleventh a girl at Sara Howard hospital. A boy born to Mrs Herwae Muller of 1030 Hamilton Avenue. A girl born to Mrs Roy Mullen of A RB 5 at Mercy Hospital.
Edward Weber, arrested at the traction office, was released on a $1,000 bond after being charged with having alcohol in his possession. Police stated he had five half pints of moonshine and 34 gallons with him. His automobile was taken to a garage by Officer Holden.
Splendid talks marked the annual Mother and Son banquet sponsored by the Mothers' club. EB A Baron described a mother's wish for her boy to be a winner and explained the meaning. Mrs Anna Carle spoke on the job of being a mother with notes from personal observations of three grown sons. Over 110 mothers and sons attended. dinner was served by the boys' work committee as the B G ja orchestra provided music.
Rev. Daniel Matthaei of Grace M E church spoke on the origin of brotherhoods and the importance of continuing the work of the organizations. A committee was appointed to arrange a congregational picnic and choose a location.
Funeral notices list Lucille Muenmig Fausen with a 8 oclock Saturday morning service at her Walnut Street home and a 8 30 service at Joseph's Church, area residents notified.
Dr J L MeLrich director of the Anbtricativzation house in Cyan Nay will be the speaker at the Federation of Women’s meeting tomorrow afternoon at the Y M C A. Meleish spent years in Russia doing war work and later was in Britain for eight months, described as a very able and interesting speaker.
The Industrial League will stop using the fair grounds diamond as bond of education allows three of its diamonds on the athletic field at Fair Avenue.
