Adventurers file many homestead entries near Deadwood
Sixty or more homestead filings were made at the local land office during a recent expedition. The Deadwood area showed strong interest while a Mead county party of Cr Jergenson and sons Edward Harvey Jergenson and Ed Hopkins secured valuable homesteads and plan to prove up in fourteen months by paying 50 cents per acre. The Mead county land is praised as excellent with future railroad plans and proximity to a coal mine and a large store.
