Two blazes struck the same residence on East Main Street in a single night. Mr and Mrs Brist awoke to flames near the outside wall and rapid spread upstairs damaging the upper floor and furniture. Firefighters contained both fires but structural damage was extensive and insurance covered only the house and contents, not the extra trouble.
