A promotional notice by Ree Bags and Buckles highlights new ladies neckwear and accessories selected by Mr. Holman in New York. It urges familiar readers to focus on the latest correct styles and shapes.
Elastic belts in black white navy and brown feature stone and cutsteel accents. Leather belts offered in a large line with prices starting at 25 cents and up to higher margins as available.
A local retailer lists new novelty bags priced from 25c to 2.00 with merry widow and cameo shapes plus back combs and music from the merry widow waltz. Also new heavy back combs 50c, rhinestone belts and pins 50c to 1.50, veil pins and waist pins in multiple styles.
The latest neckwear offerings include fancy lantein collars white grounds with colored stripes embroidered turn overs merry widow bows jabots and coordinating collar and cuff sets and waist sets.
North Lincoln residents report visitors and contacts including Jessie Mikels and family in Steal Ea Baldocks, Mrs James Funnell and son John on a Cincinnati trip, Sherman Conger visiting Joe near Chariton, Mrs Timothy Daily returning from Milan, and other neighborhood calls. Several people attend George Wiles canoe event, mail delivery hindered by bad roads, and local residents like Jadson Funnell and Bennie King involved in daily tasks and hunting activity.
In spring 1908 the shop announces a preliminary opening of correct and stylish millinery. They discontinue on premises manufacture and eliminate outside services to offer better service, modern handling, and lower prices with New York City styles selected by Mr. Holman. They claim superior style and know how to buy millinery, inviting customers to attend.
A local retailer announces opening specials to attract customers. Bargains include Women s light blue batiste petticoats priced at 75¢, a 27 inch wide fabric in cream and champagne, women s shield bow ties at 25¢, infants white lingerie dresses at 1.00, and damask linens at 15 a yard with matching napkins. Limited to opening days Wednesday and Thursday.
A public notice states that arrangements are complete for a new venture and will open about March 5, inviting the ladies of Unionville and nearby areas to attend.
