Wreck on Chicago Burlington Kansas City Line Near Linneus
A minor rail wreck occurred between 1 and 2 a.m. on the Chicago Burlington Kansas City line about 1 12 miles south of Linneus. Two southbound freights at full speed caused a rear end collision when a drawhead pulled loose. The caboose left the track and was damaged. the striking engine sustained slight damage. In Chillicothe on January 22 Elmer Moore aged 16 was accidentally shot and killed by his younger brother Eugene 14 as they hunted near Lock Springs. Elmer died within two hours after the accidental shooting along the Grand river.
