Citizens bank assistant cashier Jetra McKay suffers a slip on a park path and lapses into unconsciousness for hours before regaining consciousness. Separately, a high school senior class stages the annual senior play At the End the Rainbow, with strong performances and a capable orchestra supporting the production.
Warnick Geneveive Thomas Hollie Agee Mabel Noel Marjorie Noel and Crystal Delk form an unusually strong lineup. Their combined skill or experience suggests a high probability of achieving favorable outcomes in their undertakings.
The town plans a continuous day current by rebuilding the power plant at the high house. The engine is being enlarged and several teak blocks are being stopped up to run on a single boiler. If successful a new engine and dynamo may be installed for sustained operation through summer and beyond.
The Highway Commission decides to relocate the Kirksville State Road to the North Hartsford route. Conditions require: proceed from Pete Shipley corner to Roy Cassady corner, improve to 7 percent grade to Hartford, cut Wesley Jones hill by about 4, and route through the A B Pratt farm as part of the change.

Delegates affected by snow and delayed trains crowd the districts convention at Arbela with a postponed session set for 3 PM. Banquet crowds and speeches mark a spirited gathering while a wreck near Arbela delays rail service and reshapes plans for attending delegates from Kirksville and Novinger.
A passenger train due about one pm went into a ditch east of Arbela Monday morning. Two engines plowed through heavy snow drifts causing injuries to three or four crew members and substantial damage to the train. Rescue and cleanup followed the incident as crews worked to recover the stalled equipment.
Putnam Chapter D A R attended Washingtons Birthday exercises at the South Ward school. Pupils in third grade performed a program and the chapter presented photogravure pictures to each grade. Several teachers gave works related to American history to the grades and prizes were awarded for best history work in the first semester. Mary Alice Kelley, born in Madison County Indiana in 1854, died February 20, 1914 in Unionville Missouri at age 59 years 4 months and 28 days. She married Brownlow Cloninger in 1873 and had one daughter Carrie Speake. She joined the Christian church then the United Brethren church with her husband. She was devoted to her family and Christian spirit and cared for siblings and relatives throughout her life, leaving a lasting impression of kindness and faith. She left behind a husband, daughter, sister, three brothers, and many friends.
The home of Mrs. Alice Holiday in Pollock burned last night just before midnight. The house and contents were a total loss with $600 in insurance. Two families resided there the Holidays and the Wilsons. Wilson had no insurance and lost all his furniture.
