William Jump fell from his horse near Lorenzo Jones place and lay beside the road for about three hours. Found by a Brown boy, he was brought to town and jailed, having been drinking earlier in the day. A classified notice invites girls to learn millinery at Applegate's Millinery.
Reports claim the Santa Fe railroad will lease coal lands in Adair county. Novinger Herald notes farmers received notices of a beginning soon. The railroad, long using Kansas coal, seeks new fields due to high winter prices. if true, northern Adair county coal fields could see a big boom.
The notice lists Sunday school at 9 45 morning worship and sermon at 10 0 evening service at 7 30, and a Wednesday prayer meeting at 7 30 with an invitation from Dr. Fitzgerald. It also advertises a piano sale at Pott's Music Store. Mr and Mrs Emery Sheeley visited Lincoln Nebraska Friday before returning home to Turner Montana.
Charles L. Anderson sold 110 acres northeast of Unionville to Cyrus Bunch and 80 acres six miles east to Will Smith, buying Marion Fife’s 200 acres seven miles north. Fife bought Pearl Fife’s place. Anderson received 7000 for 110 acres and 6400 for 80 acres. Possession on March 1. Anderson known for a large Jersey herd.
Ed Wylde longtime Unionville resident died Monday at 9 45 AM after a two year illness. Funeral was held Tuesday at 8 PM at the home, conducted by Rev Trower. Burial in Unionville cemetery with G A R in charge. He was born July 28 1846 in Vermillion Ohio and moved to Missouri in 1868. He served in Company D 42nd Missouri Infantry after marrying Mary Higgins in 1867. Ten children were born, six surviving with their mother Fannie Sears Daisy Holmes Ora C Jexen M of Doniphan Charles W West Fork Ark Goldie Bacus Unionville. Two sisters a half brother and his step mother attended. The family expresses gratitude to friends neighbors and the G A R.
Unionville High School defeats Cincinnati High 21 to 18 at Unionville gym. Loughead scores 17 of 21 for Unionville, with free throws critical. Pollock fouls out. The teams face Kirksville and La Plata in upcoming games as organizers promote the Gypsy Queen operetta.
