The Putnam County Court began its February term with Presiding Judge Morgan and judges Allen and Baquet. A petition with 179 signatures urged a county courthouse election. Dropped Dead While Chopping Wood Near Harris
James Franklin Collins, 66, of the W. O. Robbins place north of town, collapsed and died while chopping wood at his home around five o'clock on a Sunday afternoon. He left a wife and several children living in Ashwood, Harris, Unionville, and nearby areas. The body was sent to Harris for funeral and burial. Trotter, visiting, was at the home during the incident.
