A lavish film production shown at the Monarch features costuming and sets across Milan and Rome with scenes of Constantine and Masentius war, a vision of the cross, and lovers Julie and Marnprat in a plotted court intrigue. Stars include M. J McQuarrie Pauline Bush Lon Chaney and Edna Maison.

The new laundry is set to begin business next Monday. J. L. Long of Excelstor Springs will head the department, arriving recently with his wife to follow. Long is a seasoned laundryman, with others finishing the building work as machines are tested at Putnéim County Implement Co.
A Brookfield Commercial Club secretary reports strong support for a passenger auto bus link between Unionville and Brookfield. Plans call for two ten to twelve seat motor buses to operate a daily round trip, carrying through and local passengers, with schedules passing through each town and along the route. The project aims to improve mail service, land values, and access to the outside world, with possible company or private ownership and spring inauguration. A home fire near Lemonville destroyed Aaron McCormick's residence, forcing occupants to escape in their stockings. Judge Casady leads efforts to reduce county debt and save funds. The Beggar Student comedy by Kirksville Normal School students, directed by Dr. Gebhart, will debut Feb. 12 at the Opera House.
Putnam County's new county court opened its first session Monday at the regular term. The body organized with members settling in and beginning business despite minor disagreements among two judges.
Mrs F M Norval 74 died January 27 1915 at Unionville Missouri after pneumonia. She was born Jane Bradshaw in Edgar County Illinois in 1840 and moved to Putnam County Missouri at 16. She married Frank M Norval in 1876 and leaves James D in California and Mrs Carl Van Buakirk of Unionville. She united with the Christian church at age 18 and remained a devoted member.
A mother and grandmother is mourned with a Christian funeral at the family home led by Rev Stidham of the Christian church in Unionville. She was kind and hospitable and dear to neighbors. A card of thanks from Frank M. Norval and Mr and Mrs Carl Van Buskirk accompanies the notice.
Putnam County Highway Commission announces a change in payment timing for road dragging contracts. Three months of work will be paid in June instead of March 1st due to frozen roads in December and January and limited funds allowing only one more payment for maximal public benefit.
