Ghosts and Acrobats Haunt a City House Tale
An elderly woman narrates renting a city home to Mrs. Morton and her son in law Mr. Ayscough. Ghostly visions of Gertrude, the portrait, and a garret room reveal thieves, two acrobats Rosa Lind and her husband, who used the wisteria vine to access the house. The woman uncovers truth, aids the intruders' escape, and confronts crime and superstition in a tense, haunted summer.
