Four Injured in Lake Thunderhead Car Truck Crash

A 5:45 p.m. crash on Highway north near Lake Thunderhead entrance sent four youths to hospitals. Crystal Hawkins 7 sustained fractures and concussion and remained unconscious but stable. Brad Dixon 6 and Sonja Dixon 7 had facial injuries, while Debbie Dixon 16 and Patty Drummom 17 were treated and released. Orval Thompson 53, driver of the truck, was uninjured as authorities investigated.

Lucerne Fair Board announces the 1978 Lucerne Fair dates August 16 17 18 and 19. Drawing the event early may allow Putnam County Fair to run in August as well avoiding start of school and stopping conflicts.

City offices must file by 5 00 p m December 27 1977 with the City Clerk in City Hall after new state election laws. Malloy Selected for 1977 North All-District Football

Calvin Malloy of Putnam County High School earned All District honors as an offensive back on the 1977 North All-District Football Squad. He led his team with 1,116 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns, starred as linebacker, and was a unanimous All Conference punter, offensive back and linebacker in the Tri Rivers Conference. He is noted as a most valuable player by his teammates and is the grandson of Mr and Mrs George Choate.

Fund Drive For Local Dialysis Families

The Busy Homemakers Club conducts a fund drive for three Unionville families with dialysis members. They sell two winter flower arrangements as tickets to be drawn Tuesday December 20, price 50 cents each or three for one dollar. The B team Midgets beat Green City 49 34 with Tracy Hounsom scoring 21 points and Dennis Sehwering 17. The Midgets’ Midgettes won 43 28 with Sandy Moore Dayna Pittman and Sherri Valentine top scorers. A third win 71 26 followed as Tom Duncan led with 19. Freshmen split at Kahoka 2 win loss. The Midgetttes fell 36 33 led by Terese Montgomery 12 Brenda Crawford 8 Sharla Fleshman 6. Midgets then won 33 26 behind Mark Cawley 16. Clark County teams were previously Anges feated.

Disaster Loan Program Explained for Farmers in Missouri

The SBA will explain the low interest disaster loan program for farmers on Thursday December 8 at 7:00 p.m. at Panam County R I High School. The program covers 26 northern Missouri counties and offers 3 percent loans up to 250 000 for crop damage from drouth, potentially supplementing the Farmers Home Administration loans.
