Two young men about 22 robbed the Cincinnati Iowa branch of Iowa Trust & Savings Bank shortly after three pm last Wednesday, forcing the cashier to open and escaping with $715.27. John Browitt saved about $2,000 by retreating into the vault and shutting the door. The gang used a stolen Ford V-8 from Ottumwa and later swapped to a Dodge as two more men waited. They fled toward Mendota and beyond, with Pursuit hampered by the transfer. G-Men are on the case and have leads, including prints, though the trail has grown cold.
